about

Hannah Jaye and the Hideaways are steeped in the folk storytelling tradition, creating an artful fusion of rootsy acoustic Americana, folk and country music while weaving compelling contemporary musical narratives that speak to the challenging day-to-day realities of the millennial experience.

The band features lead vocalist and guitarist Hannah Jaye, bassist Greg Mulley, banjo player Shannon Orcutt, and fiddle and mandolin player Will Wheaton.

Mastered by Grammy-winning local VA engineer Greg Lukens and his apprentice, Collin Peterson of Manor Time Recording Co, the 5-track collection explores themes and emotions related to the COVID-19 pandemic such as desire for connection, an end to distance from loved ones, and freedom from conventional work. A Way to Hide contains a mix of the band's favorite traditional tunes and yet-to-be-released original songs.
